  • Projects and Screens: Project names, screen names, and organizational structures you create
  • Copy Blocks: Original text, edited text, and revision history of microcopy you submit for improvement
  • Context Information: Usage context and metadata you provide to improve AI-generated suggestions
  • AI-Generated Content: Rewrites and optimizations generated by our AI service based on your input

2.3 Usage Data

We automatically collect information about how you interact with our Service:

  • Credit Usage: Number of AI rewrites performed, credits consumed, and usage patterns
  • Subscription Data: Plan type (Free, Basic, Pro), subscription period, and billing cycle information
  • Service Interactions: Features used, timestamps of actions, and error logs

2.4 Chrome Extension Data

When you use our Chrome extension, we collect:

  • Selected Text: Text you select and capture from websites for analysis
  • Page Context: URLs of pages where you capture text, page titles, DOM element information (tag names, IDs, classes, ARIA labels)
  • Contextual Information: Nearby headings, parent sections, and surrounding text to provide context for AI improvements
  • Authentication Tokens: JWT tokens for secure communication between the extension and our servers

Important: The extension only accesses data when you actively select and capture text. We do not continuously monitor or collect data from websites you visit.

2.5 Analytics and Cookies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies:

  • Google Analytics: We use Google Analytics to understand how users interact with our Service. Google Analytics collects information such as page views, session duration, device type, browser type, and geographic location. IP addresses are anonymized.
  • Essential Cookies: Session cookies for authentication and security
  • Functional Cookies: Local storage to remember your preferences and settings

You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but this may limit functionality of our Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

Clerk (Authentication)

Supabase / PostgreSQL (Database)

Google Analytics (Analytics)

Vercel (Hosting)

5. Data Storage and Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

8. Chrome Extension Privacy

Our Chrome extension is designed with privacy in mind:

  • User-Initiated Only: The extension only collects data when you actively select and capture text. It does not passively monitor your browsing
  • Limited Permissions: The extension only requests permissions necessary for its functionality (activeTab, storage, identity)
  • Secure Communication: All data transmitted between the extension and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS
  • Local Storage: Temporary data is stored locally in your browser and cleared when you log out
  • No Third-Party Sharing: Text captured via the extension is not shared with third parties except OpenAI for AI processing

You can uninstall the extension at any time through Chrome's extension management interface. This will remove all locally stored data.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Service is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the European Union). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected information from a child, please contact us immediately at support@microcopyfixer.com, and we will delete it.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence. These countries may have different data protection laws. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Our primary infrastructure is hosted in the United States. By using our Service, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States and other countries where our service providers operate.
